Author: Thaetic Did you know Stonetalon was originally part of Ashenvale until the Great Sundering? The movement caused the mountain range to sprout, and the ambient energy from the explosion changed the soil and trees. In a less WoW-centric view, Stonetalon is one of the largest mountain ranges in Azeroth. It's characterized by forceful winds and deep crags, as well as a great population of both Wyverns and Hippogryphs. If you want a logical view of why it's there, I'd imagine that it, like the Talondeep Path, was made after the Sundering occured. With a great mountain range between one of the former barrow dens and Ashenvale, they'd make an easy path to get to and fro. Since in the Talondeep Path there's branching, older pathways. And the Talon Den was made to hold various artifacts. More collaborating evidence being that the Blood Elf in Sun Rock Retreat is interested in the place. A bit better than you might've expected, actually. There's a couple interesting Blizzard-made D&D modules that use Stonetalon as a wild place to escape into.
