Chapter VII (Booty Bay)
*The contact is late* Ashtmoff thought to himself staring out at the main entrance to the City of Booty Bay. He had been renting the loft for seven days now preferring the solitude of the loft versus the buzz of a busy inn. Here all Ashtmoff had to deal with is the morning movement of hay and feed to the Griffon post two buildings over.
*seven days, two days to late. I can feel them coming* Ashtmoff had always been able to sense when another person who practiced the Dark Arts was getting close since he created his first soul shard. His mentor at the time told him it was a gift and very few Warlocks ever developed the talent of sense, but those who do can sense them for miles and even sense what sort of mind set they are in.
*These three are not coming to negotiate this time. This time the SW Conclave of Warlocks is going to far, an example must be made.*
*The Conclave of warlocks is an order that exists with Stormwind as its home. The Conclave is not evil nor would you really consider them bad guys, with the exception of the fact they have the all or nothing attitude. The Conclave believes that all warlocks must be guided by their counsel and pay homage to them. They also believe that if you are not a member of the Conclave that you are an outlaw if you practice the Dark arts without their expressed approval. My master would not conform to their idealisms and believed that he would better serve the alliance on his own. During my apprenticeship they sent three of what they call the Fel Triads. Basically they were three emissary’s that would be dispatched to reign in rogue Warlocks and bring them into the fold.
The counsel of the Conclave has some obsession with the number three. Three people sent three attempts to bring a Lock into their ranks, they give no fourth attempt at the end of the third its do or die. And so it was for my master when they finally caught up to us in the un'goro crater where I watched my master fight the triad on Fire Plume Ridge. At that time the Triad had no idea that I even existed my master went through very extensive lengths to ensure that no one knew he had an apprentice. I can only imagine how they twisted and tortured his soul before he would give up the knowledge of his apprentices existence. He made me swear that day, after I had informed him of how close they were that I would watch and do nothing but hide and survive, he knew what the outcome would be then as I know what the outcome will be today.
This will be the Triads third and last attempt to bring me into their fold, and much like my master I do not bend to pressure and threats. I only hope that I will have the strength and cunning to succeed where my master failed.
They are close now, probably interrogating some citizens to my whereabouts. Wont be long now.
"Juk'kath my demon friend you will serve a great purpose today. Do your job and I will do mine." Ashtmoff said while patting his Voidwalker. He then placed Juk'Kath at the top of the stair well that bent down and led to the main entrance to the loft.
*hmm there is three of them but one is much weaker then the other two. I do believe this time they brought one of their younglings with them I can use this. They must not think to much of me to send someone in training to their third attempt to bring me in."HA".
-Two and a half hours pass while Juk'Kath and his master hiding behind the swinging door to the top of the hay loft waiting for their unwelcome guests. The time had finally come Ashtmoff could feel the three approaching the main entrance to the building. He could almost see them in his mind pausing at the front looking around gauging the distance between buildings if fire caught on the wood or hay. Getting an estimate of how many witnesses would have to be paid off afterwards.
Two of them quickly stepped inside the entrance and spread apart they immediately summoned demons from the nethers the one on the right side of the door was first to speak. He spoke in a loud booming voice.
"Ashtmoff Al'Anthere the Counsel of the Conclave of Warlocks of the city of Stormwind hereby decree. You are a known rogue Warlock this is our third and final attempt to allow you participation and integration within the conclave. All the conclave asks is for your oath of allegiance to the Counsel and to the Alliance."
*This man is very well spoken* Ashtmoff thought to himself. *Will be a shame to silence his tongue.*
"Ashtmoff this IS our final attempt you know what comes next just agree to our terms and live a long and fruitful life. All you have to do is make the pledge give your oath to the counsel." The man spoke again.
*ugh I hate it when they ruin a speech by making mock pleads pretending to actually care* Ashtmoff thought to himself. *I've had enough of this* Ashtmoff peeked his head out the window could see the young apprentice standing just outside the main door and next to him thinking himself invisible was a slimy little imp with a stupid smirk on its face bouncing from one foot to the other with anticipation.*Perfect* Ashtmoff thought.
-With that Ash sent Juk'Kath down the stairs He could hear the men shouting orders to their pets to attack Juk'Kath. Ash leapt from the window crashing down on the apprentices head knocking him unconscious. The little imp caught off guard Hesitated just long enough for Ash to sever his head from his torso. Hearing the Crash outside the Two Conclave members realized their error.
Stepping inside ash saw the two just starting to turn his direction. One a male with a full beard standing about three times Ashtmoff's height and holding long wooden staff with a golden eagle on the top. The other was a human female very pretty for a human with long wavy brown locks and enormous blue eyes almost fitting a gnome woman. They were both robed in the white robes of the Conclave that displayed a Horned skull upon the chest.
*Time to work* - Ashtmoff let loose a ear piercing howl, both individuals turned away and huddled down cowering covering their ears just long enough for Ashtmoff To banish the imp that had now turned to launch a fire bolt at him.
"PROTECT ME MY PET" Ashtmoff yelled, at this Juk'Kath instantly turned into a swirl of blue and black smoke and was absorbed into Ashtmoff's body. The firbolt was absorbed. The other demon in the room was a succubus.
Ashtmoff chanted three words "kunandrum Brioliz estovare" the imp cringed and stopped moving as if frozen. Ashtmoff then chanted three more words. "Ustafed neuroli esteive" and pointed at the succubus that had just leapt towards him. "You are now my pet!"
The two cringing Warlocks had already recovered though and had started channeling spells of their own. Ash sent a mental image to the succubus and she turned and seduced the male while Ash yelled a power word. "DREACOIL" instantly a black ball of smoke flew from his fingertips slamming into the female, screaming mad she turned to flee but Ashtmoff was to quick for her as she ran by he quickly uttered three more power words while slicing her right ankle with his sword. "Siphone, Curotio, Agonizia." Falling to the ground the woman clutched her ankle at first only to start thrashing away at her own face and arms as the diseases began rotting away her flesh while she was still alive. Within moments it was over she was dead.
Ashtmoff now turned his attention to the man locked firmly in the grasp of his own succubus’s charm. Ashtmoff couldn't help but to let out a small chuckle at the irony. The young boy he had already decided he would let live but the man he better dispose of. He calmly walked over to the man leaning against the wall no longer aware of Ashtmoff's presence. "Is this the best they can send these days. And to think you wanted me to join you. Bah I’ll serve the alliance my own way's without your order telling me what I’m to do." Ashtmoff knew that the man could not hear him but he felt like saying it out loud anyways. And with that Ash ran his sword across the mans throat so that when the charm broke there would be no spells coming off of that tongue.
Ashtmoff then looked outside to the unconscious boy, turned to the Demon behind him. "Drag him up stairs keep him company when he wakes and when I return I will release you from your duties to me."
